Update: Six months on MTF HRT
Well, doesn’t time fly? Six months – half a year – on estrogen. I thought I’d better write a bit of an update.
Don't dream it... be it

I’m now 45 (hooray – still not dead!) and I’ve just had the best birthday celebration of my life. It was super-girly – and a major family hurdle has at last been cleared. The elephant in the room is dead – hooray!
I’ve spent the past couple of years coming out to people – and most of my friends and family have been wonderful, supportive and sensitive. But a few – usually people I don’t know so well – seem to need a little coaching. So I thought I’d write a piece on things not to say to trans women.
One reason I admire and respect women so much is because of how they deal with the amount of SHIT they have to put up from pervy blokes. It’s something that men will never truly understand – and something that’s only really just beginning to sink in with me now.
Just a short post, this one. As I said in this post, I was invited to write a few words about this crazy trans journey I’m on for the Two Chubby Cubs website for a competition.
I think it’s fair to say my parents have found my transition a little tough to deal with since I came out just over a year ago. But last week, we made some giant strides. Hoorah!
Last December, I wrote a blog post about how I planned to bring back my head hair by using a combination of two drugs. Almost a year on, and following a super-scientific scalp consultation, I’m now looking forward to the day I can ditch my wig forever.
OK, well technically, it’s three months and 11 days, but I’ve had a deadline to hit – been a busy bee! So yeah, three months on estrogen. Thought I’d write an update.
Just a short post, this one. I’m quitting Twitter. I’ve not closed my account, but I’m taking a break which may become permanent. Why? Transphobia!
Crikey, just writing that headline gives me goosebumps! Last week, I was voted my Slimming World group’s Woman of the Year – just two years after winning the Man of the Year title.
