My blood test results are here. I have my fourth gender clinic appointment next Monday and, if all is well with them, the clinic will write to my GP to tell her to start prescribing estrogen. But there could be a hitch – one of the hormone results is off the scale.
I’ve just cleared the penultimate hurdle in my marathon race for HRT – a journey which began in 2015. The winning post is in sight!
Just had the most lovely series of messages from my friend Fay, who I don’t really see that often. I’m going on her hen night – and I’m going to the wedding – and I can wear what the hell I like!
Most transwomen are all too familiar with the trademark effects of taking estrogen – softer skin, fat redistribution, boobs, etc, etc. But there are loads of other MTF HRT effects that can kick in to a greater or lesser extent. I’ve been doing my research.
Just a quick update tonight, as I said I would try and keep a record of my Slimming World record last week.
Well, here’s a silly thing. I’m doing my tax return and, while it’s never the most enjoyable thing in the world, it’s never reduced me to tears before!
I’ve written before about how I joined Slimming World to lower my weight so that my BMI would be low enough to start HRT. Things were going really well – now they’re not, so it’s time to take control again!
Every now and then, you meet someone who you really like – and you wonder if maybe there is something in the “everything happens for a reason” fate theory after all. I met someone through my work – and she’s turned out to be a brilliant trans ally and friend.
I’ve written on here before about how supportive my dad was when I came out to him and my mum back in the summer. Since then, me being trans has rarely been mentioned by either of them. But we had a little progress yesterday. [Read more…]
