Just wanted to write a wee post about the blog tonight. I launched it just over two years ago and, these days, we’re getting visitors from across the planet!
When I began the blog, it was for me just to write down my memories – mostly as an aide memoire. I thought that, if it could help anyone else on a similar journey, then that would be great.
The first few months, I had only a handful of visitors and page views. But I kept plugging away with it and, now, I get thousands – from right across the world.
So I just thought I’d write to say thank you for all your support if you’re visiting – and to throw a few stats at you.
This year, most visitors have come from the UK. After that, we have the US (yo, Codey!) and then Germany, Canada and Australia. Making up the rest of the top ten are the Netherlands, Sweden, Mexico, South Korea and France.
In today’s stats, we’ve been massive in the US and South Africa. Hi to all my visitors in both countries. Never been to South Africa, but I’ve spent many happy hours in Missouri, in the States. I love to travel.
In third place is the good old UK (yep, been there!) followed by Germany (happy days at a market in Hamburg) and Slovakia (climbed a 100ft waterfall, as you do).
And then in joint sixth place, we have Canada and Malta. Never been to Canada but “BONGU!” to our visitors from Malta! I spent a week there a few years ago and loved it – apart from my friend forgetting that the Maltese drive on the other side of the road and trying to kill us all. And then we have visitors from Ireland, the Philippines and Poland.
So, wherever in the world you’re from, thanks for visiting the blog. December’s looking like another record month for page views and visitors – and the blog should continue to grow even more in the new year, once I sort out transferring all the content to my new domain name, www.andiepasdedeux.com.
And then, eventually, there’s gonna be a book. It’s nice to know that people like reading all this stuff I write – much love to each and every one of you.
Andie xxx
